![]() ![]() Is there a soundflower alternative, and a straightforward workflow to this? where i can still monitor through my interface, but the output of the stand alone synth to whatever inter app virtual audio cable and perhaps add the input of that virtual audio cable to a new aggregate IO that pro tools can use?ĭo aggregate audio devices have performance penalties?Ĭheers. PS would really like to do this, so anyone who is using standalone VI's of any kind, please let me know how you get it into Pro tools. Well this is really what Rewire is designed to do, but I don't know that it works with Kontakt. I'm able to accomplish what you're trying to do with another computer and interface by routing the audio back into Pro Tools via ADAT. I'd be interested in seeing if it's possible to do all on one computer too. Unfortunately rewire can not use more than one core, propellerheads confirmed this, it was never designed to multi thread. ![]() so at most, i might get one or two kontakt pads out of it. I also don't know of a daw on mac that can host vst/au plugins when in rewire slave mode. Yeah, for same computer, rewire won't work i don't think. I found sound siphon and loopback as suggested, and will see if i can create aggregate devices so that the virtual input is always on, and i'll assign my interface output to the aggregate. Sound siphon is commercial ware, unfortunately, and it has high ratings, but the free trial is a scam, there is no such thing. You download it and HAVE to pay the $39 for outputs. PS if i get a new computer and keep my imac, yes it will be easy to do it with a second machine. i'd just get a standalone program like patchwork and put it at ultra low buffer, and use a cheap multi channel interface going into the Apollo. and i could compensate with pro tools record offset very easily, as of course that won't be sample accurate.īut i really want to sell the imac and have only one desktop. PPS i suppose VEP is the answer for doing it fully integrated on the same machine, i saw a video with pro tools expert adding spectrasonics stuff to ve pro and it's not impacting pro tools performance at all.īut that's not a cheap program. I did this for years by hosting VI's in Reaper and Rewiring them into PT from the instruments individual outputs. Reaper is basically free if you don't mind a nag window. ![]()

![]() This is both good and bad because it’s a “try before you buy” system but the cost can feel like a chore. There is a way to spend experience points to unlock them for the entirety of the game but come at sometimes 5 times the cost. There are skill trees and shrine bonuses that will add alternate combos, specials and stat buffs but they don’t carry over from run to run. Sadly what DOESN’T carry over are skill unlocks. This makes multiple replays a necessity to set yourself up for the following levels. To add into the unforgiving nature of Sifu, levels/areas are sequential and whatever age and multiplier you finish the first level, carries over to the second level. It feels good to defeat a gang of goons to watch the counter tick down but there’s a real demoralizing quality to dying at a particularly hard boss and seeing the multiplayer tick your age up by 6. This multiplier is a cruel mistress and makes dying a painful endeavor. The trick is, if you die AGAIN to the same set of enemies, the death counter goes up by 2, so you will come back at age 23. This is when the death counter goes up by one and your character ages to 21. Going through levels will have you fighting hordes of enemies, and sometimes death will occur, it’s a part of life of course. The player character starts at a young age of 20. The brutality of the combat is best exemplified in it’s life system. Varying your move set, analyzing your enemy and being aware of your surroundings are what is necessary to progress because Sifu won’t go easy on you. It’s a delicate ballet that feels like risks are punished in favor of playing it safe. Deciding to use a push move to make an enemy trip over a footstool is a viable strategy here and all of this needs to be taken into account for you to succeed. Throwing somebody into a wall or knocking someone off balance can turn the tables of a fight just as easy as a well timed punch. Along with the enemy learning your moves, the environment comes into play a lot within combat. Do the same three hit combo with a spin kick and enemies will notice and adapt their tactics to avoid yours. ![]() So enemies are just as likely to slow-mo dodge or parry your punches. The interesting part of Sifu comes in that all of these skills (minus the focus abilities) are part of the enemies repertoire as well. It doesn’t happen often but enough to be frustrating. While the combat is dense with possibilities, it can also feel even more difficult when you sometimes feel like you are fighting with the camera as well. Lastly there’s a focus meter that is built up from dodges and parries, that when spent will unleash a special maneuver like a trip or spin kick. ![]() Also using directional inputs while blocking can result in perfectly timed dodges but dashing out of the way fully is another variable option. You can only block so much before being knocked off guard, but using your block at the exact right moment results in a parry knocking the enemy off balance. Then there is the structure system, which acts as your guard break. Using these in varying sequences will result in combos or special unique attacks. The story acts as window dressing for a complex iceberg of systems that lie underneath the surface.Īs a kung-fu student, you are given a set of distinct moves that follow a pattern of heavy and light attacks. ![]() It’s a kung fu revenge tale seen in many 60’s and 70’s films but works well here in both style and simplicity. You do so by traveling to 5 distinct locales across China and fighting your way through countless enemies to reach the head assassin. Flash forward a decade into the future and we are the 20 year old son set on a revenge quest to defeat the gang that destroyed your family. The game begins with an assassin and his crew killing a kung fu master and his family ending with cutting the throat of the son. It’s a game that expects a lot from the player and punishes those who aren’t willing to put in the effort which is divisive to say the least. Though after delving deeper, it’s actually a mechanically dense study into game design and clever non linear progression system. At first glance it is a brawler style martial arts game that pits an aging kung fu student against a cavalcade of stylistic villains and henchmen. Sifu (the new game from Sloclap, developers of Absolver) put me in a weird headspace. ![]() ![]() ![]() The Grand Sea Lord is the commander-in-chief of the Nova Balreskan Navy. ![]() The two large ContainerControls I’ve converted so far have followed this pattern: I added code and signatures to IMSplitter so it can handle DesktopControl, DesktopContainer etc as items to resize when the bar is moved (along with existing methods), otheriwse I’d have to migrate everything at once. I’m using IMSplitter to provide the splitter bars. One large pane is a PagePanel, each panel of which has an instance of a ContainerControl on it. You move the splitter bars to change the space allocated to each pane. I have a mainwaindow made up of various panes with splitter bars between. Mostly I’ve been using the convert mechanism. So far I’m down from over 6000 warnings to around 2600. Remember to compile and run at each stage, and changes that move you forward can then be applied to the clean copy. And that left it in a state which appeared not to be undo-able. I tried converting the menubar but it refuses if there are unconverted windows. I wanted to convert the main window this way, but had an issue with the Apps main menu bar. Open, for example - copy the code in the Open event, add the Opening event to the Window, and paste the code into it. In the latter case you’ll need to reimplement and events which need changing. It may help to convert a small number of individual controls or perhaps just a window itself by editing its super in the inspector. It may be necessary to duplicate some items, having one for API1 and the other for API2, to avoid running into needing cascading changes which run into a brick wall. ![]() I couldn’t find any way to fix the indices other than by re-creating the control set. I must have done this by mistake at some point and ended up with a control set of two radio buttons, which had indices of 6 and 7 rather than 0 and 1. Never Undo a conversion on the clean copy. If that step works OK, apply it to the clean copy. All these can be fixed and then a new baseline saved.ĭon’t trust Undo: it’s OK to try a conversion, see what problems it gives, perhaps undo the conversion, try converting something else. Other items acquired a focus ring they didn’t previously have. I had one window with a number of controls when converted as a whole, some labels lost their alighment (it went back to default), or their text which went back to untitled’. Having done that, SAVE! This then becomes a new baseline. Such steps can then be applied to the clean copy. ![]() I have a number of small windows with only a few controls in each these converted easily, with no compilation errors, and worked OK when tested. One is for trying things, the other is for applying permanent conversion steps to. As I’ve no development I feel like doing on my app at the minute, I decided it was the time to attempt the conversion. ![]() ![]() ![]() This link is valid for two weeks only after purchase, unless you purchased download insurance which extends downloads to 24 months. Step 5: Repeat steps 1 through 4 until your entire vehicle has been waxed. Step 4: Wait 10 - 20 minutes before you buff off the excess wax with a clean microfiber towel. If water begins to pool and look flat on your paint, then chances are there is little to no protection remaining and it's advised to apply another coat of wax. Step 3: You can apply the wax with light pressure in a circular, back and forth and/or up and down motion, remember to stretch the wax nice and thin. As you maintain your vehicle, keep an eye out for how well the water beads and sheets off your paint. The key is to re-apply your coat of protection before the previous coat runs out. Some of the major factors are if your car is stored in a garage or outside, how many miles are driven, the type of weather conditions your vehicle is exposed to, how well your paint was prepped prior to applying the wax, the frequency of washing your vehicle, and type of shampoo. There are many factors that go into determining how long a wax will last. In general, carnauba waxes will last anywhere from 3 to 8 weeks. ![]() How Often Should You Wax Your Car?
